From September 22 to 23, the 2nd China-Central Asia Meteorological Cooperation Forum with the theme of "Implementing Early Warnings for All, Safeguarding Regional Development and Security" was successfully held in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Erkin Tuniyaz, Chairman of the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Chen Zhenlin, Administrator of the China Meteorological Administration, Danara Alimbayeva, Director of the National Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan, and Ilzayev Nuraly, Deputy Secretary-General of the China-Central Asia Mechanism, attended the forum and delivered addresses. Ben Churchill, Director of the WMO Regional Office for Asia and the South-West Pacific, gave a video speech. Ajit Wijemanne, Director of the Department of Meteorology of Sri Lanka, and Mohammad Rubaiyat Kabir, Deputy Director of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, were present at the event.

Officials from WMO, the Secretariat of the China-Central Asia Mechanism, meteorological and hydrological authorities of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, as well as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and other countries, the 2026 Belt and Road Meteorological Visiting Scholars, together with expert representatives from the China Meteorological Administration, domestic universities, research institutes and relevant enterprises, gathered at the forum to improve the quality and efficiency of regional meteorological cooperation and build synergy in addressing climate change.

The forum was hosted by the China Meteorological Administration, and co-organized by the Xinjiang Meteorological Bureau and the China Meteorological Administration Training Centre.

Hangzhou Qianhai Technology brought a range of self-developed core atmospheric observation instruments to the parallel Meteorological Equipment Achievement Exchange and Promotion Conference, showcasing innovative achievements of domestically-produced meteorological remote sensing equipment to participating experts and meteorological practitioners from home and abroad.

The core products on display include the Microwave Radiometer (SMR-100), 3D Scanning Wind Lidar (SLWR-3D-20k), and All-Sky Automatic Imaging System (SCI-100).

✅ Microwave Radiometer (SMR-100): Capable of continuous detection of atmospheric temperature and humidity profiles with unattended operation, it provides continuous atmospheric profile data for nowcasting and severe convection monitoring.

✅ 3D Scanning Wind Lidar (SLWR-3D-20k): It enables long-range 3D volumetric wind field scanning and detection to acquire wind speed, wind direction, turbulence, wind shear and other information. It boasts wide application value in meteorological monitoring, wind resource assessment and low-altitude safety guarantee scenarios.

✅ All-Sky Automatic Imaging System (SCI-100): It conducts all-weather automatic observation of sky cloud conditions, collects cloud amount, cloud type and other information in real time, and outputs standardized observation data to support the automation of surface meteorological observation operations.

At the smart meteorology product demonstration site, the booth of Qianhai Technology attracted many meteorological experts and industry peers from home and abroad to stop for exchanges. The team shared information on equipment technical specifications, application cases and localized adaptation solutions.

On the afternoon of September 22, Tong Haiming, General Manager of the Company, was invited to attend Parallel Session 2: Roundtable Meeting.

With years of in-depth engagement in the environmental sensing sector, Qianhai Technology keeps independently developing high-precision meteorological observation instruments. Its products cover observation scenarios across atmospheric, marine and hydrological fields. Leveraging mature equipment technologies and project implementation experience, the company actively promotes international exchanges and cooperation for domestically produced environmental observation equipment.

This promotion conference marks an important practice of Qianhai Technology’s participation in international meteorological exchanges. Going forward, Qianhai Technology will continue to refine meteorological observation technologies, help bring "Chinese meteorological technologies" to the world, deepen cooperation with Central Asia in meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation as well as climate monitoring, and jointly advance the coordinated development of regional meteorological undertakings.
