From December 2nd to 5th, the 2nd Symposium on Tropical Marine Meteorology and the Academic Symposium Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Construction of China Meteorological Administration (CMA) South China Sea (Bohe) Marine Meteorology Field Scientific Experiment Base was grandly held in Maoming, Guangdong Province. Zhuang Xudong, Director of the Guangdong Provincial Meteorological Bureau, and Gao Xueshan, Vice Mayor of the Maoming Municipal People's Government, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

The event was sponsored by the Chinese Meteorological Society, and co-hosted by the Guangzhou Institute of Tropical and Marine Meteorology of CMA, the Professional Committee on Tropical and Marine Meteorology of the Chinese Meteorological Society, and the Guangdong Meteorological Society. Nearly 200 representatives from domestic leaders, experts, enterprises and public institutions in the fields of meteorology and oceanography participated in the event.

As a leading domestic supplier of marine meteorological observation equipment, Qinhai Technology participated in the conference exhibition with its independently developedmeteorological ground-based equipment—including the Microwave Radiometer (SMR-100), 3D Scanning Laser Wind Lidar (SLWR-3D-20k)—and a series of marine measurement sensor equipment. It exchanged ideas with industry experts and scholars from across the country on the innovation and development of marine meteorological observation technology.

More than 20 experts including Hu Sheng, Director of the Guangzhou Institute of Tropical and Marine Meteorology of the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), Fei Jianfang, Professor of the National University of Defense Technology (NUDT), Qiao Fangli, Deputy Director of the First Institute of Oceanography of the Ministry of Natural Resources, and Lei Yong, Chief Engineer of the Meteorological Observation Center of the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), delivered invited reports.

Deeply Engaged in Marine Meteorological Observation

Forging a Masterpiece in Two Decades

The construction of the South China Sea (Bohe) Marine Meteorology Field Scientific Experiment Base of the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) has gone through a 20-year journey. As an important marine meteorological observation and research base in China, it has provided a large amount of valuable data support for meteorological forecasting in the South China Sea, marine disaster prevention and mitigation, and climate change research in the country.

Since its establishment, Qinhai Technology has been consistently dedicated to the R&D and application of marine meteorological observation technology. The company's R&D team has been deeply engaged in the industry for more than a decade, mastering a number of core technologies. Its products have been widely applied in fields such as marine meteorological observation, wind power resource assessment, and environmental monitoring.

Star Products Make Their Debut

Demonstrating Solid Technical Strength

Microwave Radiometer (SMR-100): A Powerful Tool for All-Weather Atmospheric Temperature and Humidity Profile Observation

The microwave radiometer independently developed by Qinhai Technology adopts advanced microwave remote sensing technology, enabling continuous and automatic observation of the vertical profile of atmospheric temperature and humidity. This equipment boasts the following advantages:
  • High spatiotemporal resolution: It can provide atmospheric temperature and humidity data with minute-level temporal resolution and high vertical resolution.
  • All-weather operation: Unaffected by weather conditions such as clouds and fog, it realizes 24-hour continuous observation.
  • Low maintenance cost: It does not require consumable sounding materials, featuring simple operation and maintenance.
  • Rich data output: In addition to temperature and humidity profiles, it can also retrieve parameters such as liquid water content and total water vapor.
This equipment has unique advantages in marine meteorological observation in the South China Sea and can provide important data support for typhoon forecasting, severe convective weather early warning, and other applications.

3D Scanning Laser Wind Lidar (SLWR-3D-20k): A New-Generation Wind Field Observation Equipment

The 3D Scanning Laser Wind Lidar launched by Qinhai Technology adopts advanced laser Doppler wind measurement technology, enabling accurate measurement of 3D wind fields. It features the following strengths:
  • High-precision measurement: The wind speed measurement error is less than 0.5 m/s, and the wind direction measurement error is less than 8 degrees.
  • Wide-range coverage: The maximum horizontal detection distance can reach 20 kilometers, and the height coverage extends to several thousand meters.
This equipment has broad application prospects in fields such as offshore wind power development, port navigation safety, atmospheric pollution diffusion research, urban 3D wind field construction, and wind shear analysis in complex terrain.

Marine Surveying and Sensing Equipment: Building a Three-Dimensional Observation Network
In addition to the aforementioned flagship products, Shallow Sea Technology also exhibited a series of marine surveying and sensing equipment, including: Conductivity-Temperature-Depth (CTD) sensors, inductively coupled CTD sensors, Underway CTD (UCTD) systems, in-situ nutrient analyzers, multi-parameter water quality monitors, and Surface Ocean Buoy 17BS (SOB17BS) drift observation buoys. These devices enable the construction of a three-dimensional marine meteorological observation network covering from the deep sea to the sea surface, and from coastal waters to the open ocean.
